Vegetable Oils came to exist in the early 1900s. Until then cold pressed oils, milk based fats like butter, cream and animal fats were used by people in cooking. These seeds are first heated at a high temperature for oxidizing and then processed with a petroleum solvent to extract the oils from them. It is reheated and cleaned with an acid to remove any wax formed during the first process. Some chemicals are mixed in the oil to improve the colour. They contain a very high amount of Polyunsaturated fats in them which are highly unstable. They are known to oxidize easily. These oxidized fats cause inflammation and mutation in cells. Many issues from cancer, heart disease, endometriosis, PCOS, etc. are said to be a result of these polyunsaturated fats.

These oils also contain a lot of pesticides and chemicals. They are full of artificial antioxidants like BHA and BHT (Butylated Hydroxyanisole and Butylated Hydroxytoluene). The artificial antioxidants help in storing the food for a long time but they also lead to health problems like immune system issues, infertility, behavioral problems, and liver and kidney damage.
